What are your Studio hours?

  • My email is open 24/7. I have been without a studio since I opened the business. My efficiency without a studio is the same…professional and precise. I will answer all your questions as soon as possible. Please bear in mind, weekend responses may be slower due to the fact I am most likely on an wedding creating wonderful memories.

How many hours of coverage do you offer?

  • Most all weddings can be covered within a ten hour timeline…give or take 30 minutes. If your wedding has less hours, I have custom packages available. Here is simple way to estimate your needed hours. If you’re not having a “first look”, the photographer starts two hours before the ceremony. If you are having a “first look”…it’s about 4.5 hours before the ceremony.

Do you cover the “After Party?”

  • After parties can be covered within the contract at a discount or on the day of with an hourly overtime charge of $300 per hour..

Are formal table shots included?

  • Under normal circumstances table shots are not taken. If you request this service, it can be done. The Bride & Groom should be included in these pictures for guest control and expediency. One note to be aware of when photographing table shots. These tend to consume a considerable amount of unpredictable time…sometimes they go quickly - sometimes not so quick. Either way, the Bride & Groom and the photographer, will not be a part of the reception where all the photojournalist’s images are happening.

What is your payment plan?

  • The total cost of the package is usually broken into 3 payments. The 1st third at signing, the 2nd third half the distance(in time) to the wedding date and the final third, a month before the wedding.

How many images will I get?

  • If it’s a one photographer wedding, approximately 700-900. If it’s a two photographer wedding…between 1,000 -1,200 is the norm.

What is the turn-around time?

  • Under normal conditions, your images will be uploaded to your own personal website within 30 days. If your wedding is at the height of wedding season(June-September), no later than 60 days.

Can I purchase paper proofs?

  • Sure you can but you do have the abilities to print your own because you have download rights. If you wish to have 4”x6” paper prints of your wedding/event, these can be purchased for $300. All prints are color corrected and are not watermarked.

Are any of my images converted into Black & White?

  • All images are shot in RAW, a professional format structure that has tremendous range and versatility. RAW by default is shot in color. About 10-15% of the images are converted to Black & White. If need be, if a proof is B&W and you want to try color…that’s an easy fix.

Are any of the digital proofs watermarked?

  • The quick answer is “NO”. The long answer is that my copyright information will be contained within the metadata. This does not affect the usage age is any way. The contract states personal use only…under no situation are any images to be used for commercial used unless an agreement is secured and is in writing.

How are the wedding images prepared?

  • All of your edited wedding images are color corrected to bring out their best qualities. Some images may be converted to B&W to add some diversity. After this process they are posted online without a watermark. Any further corrections only occur during print making or the album making process.

Are the digital images copyrighted?

  • The images are copyrighted to the photographer…but, the couple/event coverage purchaser have the right to digitally use/print for their own personal use. This may include making prints, making their own album, posting on the internet without post alterations, sharing via internet to family and friends. There are no transferred rights from either party. The photographer and/or the couple/event purchase cannot use the images within a commercial environment. This means, you cannot gain monetarily off these images in no shape or form. The photographer does have the right to use the images to maintain and promote new business. If a commercial situation does come up, both the photographer and the clients benefit via an agreement that is to be negotiated.

Do you offer an engagement session and if so, how do they work?

  • I offer engagement sessions to all couples. If they are a couple who I have signed on for their wedding with images by Harrison, this is a wonderful opportunity to get a feel of what it is like working with a professional photographer. It sure comes in handy on the day of the wedding. All engagement sittings occur during the week, Monday – Thursday. My weekends are reserved for weddings. In case of bad weather, the engagement session is rescheduled because there is no studio option as backup. The engagement couple will receive about 100 Hi-Res Color/B&W corrected images that are downloadable to their computer within a couple of weeks. This link will be password protected and will be up for three months.

What happens if I have an album with my package…how does it work?

  • After you look through your proofs, it is your fun job to choose your images. Grab a glass of wine while listening to some slow jazz and get to work, Once you have your favorites, relay the file numbers via an email back to the studio. Having the file names in sequential order is a big help. Let me mention that when choosing your images that only one image needs to represent one train of thought. For an example, the cover of a magazine such as Vogue, will have many many images to choose from but in the end, there is only one image that is cover worthy. Please keep this in mind when choosing your images.

How long will it take for me to get my album?

  • The design process can take up to 4-6 weeks depending on prior workloads. You will receive a PDF of your layout prior to printing for your approval. You receive two rounds of corrections as part of the design process. Once the design is approved and submitted, you will need another month(sometimes shorter) for album manufacture.
